Abstract

There are a lot of habits that ignore the physical activity and a healthy lifestyle in one's life that have sprung up
along with the entry of globalization in Indonesia. These habits can certainly impact on physical fitness. This study aims to
analyze whether there is a relationship between a healthy lifestyle and the level of physical fitness of 8th grade students of
Sleman 1 State Junior High School Yogyakarta. This is a correlation study that uses survey methods with instruments in the
form of measurement tests, healthy lifestyles using instruments in the form of questionnaires, and physical fitness uses the
TKJI test for ages 13-15 years. The subjects of this study were the 30 students of eighth graders of the Sleman 1 State
Junior High School. The data analysis technique uses the product moment correlation coefficient (Karl Pearson) at a
significance level of 0.05 or 5%. The results obtained by the r hit value (0.960)> r tab (0.361) which means that there is a
significant relationship between healthy lifestyles and the level of physical fitness of 8th graders of Sleman 1 State Junior
High School.
